I've already sold 5 Empire Outriders, within an hour after they were posted. These halberdiers and swordsmen are also available. But their auctions end sometime tomorrow, so bid on them while you can.
Yes, I've made the decision to sell off my Warhammer Empire Army--well, most of it anyway. I'm keeping some of the heroes and neat items like the Helblaster Volley gun. The point is to sell at least 90% of my army, so I'm not tempted to build another army again, ever. The only problem is that I'm reaching my limit for the amount of things I can sell on ebay.
Coming down the pipeline, however, are:
--A unit of 10 handgunners (painted)
--10 handgunners/ crossbowmen still in their box unopened
--a horde of 40+ half-painted spearmen
--15 Empire knights, 5 fully painted
--10 Empire Huntsmen/ Archers
There's more, but I need to organize all of these miniatures and determine prices.
Given my earlier tirades about "The Psychosis of Warhammer"(renamed from "The Psychology of Warhammer" as suggested by a person who commented on these posts), this sale really should come as no surprise. Writing those posts really solidified in my mind that Warhammer Fantasy is just a lousy game, if its really a game at all.
I admit, perhaps if I had won with my Empire Army, I might have a different opinion. Yet, even if I had, 8th edition changed how armies work, as shown by Blue Table Painting, so I'd have buy more miniature and invest more time in assembling an paint them--time that I no longer wish to allocate to such endeavour.
Even the guy who last trounced my Empire army with his Chaos trolls lamented about the new Warriors of Chaos army book that just came out this week. "They'll probably take away Throgg the Troll King's special rule where troll's can be considered core units if Throgg is fielded," he sighed.
Darn. Too bad.
Next week I might have a miniature or two painted up for this year's plan of 52 Weeks, 52 Miniatures. But for now...
I'm done with Warhammer. And it feels pretty damn good...
