A drakee resembles a large furry bat, but with a thick round body and gaping mouth full of sharp teeth. Its favorite tactic is to dive from at least 100 feet above, gaining +2 to attack and double damage (2d8) if it hits. If its rolls a natural 20, it bites off the victim’s head and flies away with it in its mouth.

If it misses, it lets loose a loud “keeeee” sound. Hence its name.

These creatures have 3 Hit Dice, red fur, and can cast Magic Missile three times per day for 1d4+1 damage.

The largest of the drakees have a 7’ wingspan, 5 Hit Dice, yellow fur, and cast Magic Missile three times per day as a 3rd level spellcaster (2 missiles for 1d4+1 damage each). They also regenerate 2 hit points per round. They are always neutral evil.

All drakees are solitary creatures. Their nests are often hidden, but can contain some treasure as well as numerous skulls of their victims.

  1. I actually know this guy too! That whole.. biting off a victims head and flying away with it is pretty brutal. Thankfully I never recall being victim of that signature dive bomb move :)

  2. Nice. You'd better be doing slimes.
